Her work was scripted in international acclaimed film GORILLAS IN THE MIST which was shot in Volcanoes national park.
Volcanoes National Park lies in the north-western of Rwanda and bordering Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. The national park is known as a haven for the mountain gorilla. It is also home to five of the eight volcanoes of the Virunga Mountains (Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga and Sabyinyo), which are covered in rainforest and bamboo.
The park was first gazetted in 1925, as a small area bounded by Karisimbi, Visoke and Mikeno, intended to protect the gorillas from poachers. It was the very first National Park to be created in Africa.

Today you will be picked up by the guide from the airport for transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes national park
You will have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters to be briefed before entering the forest to track the gorillas. The hiking may take about 1-8 hours depending on the movement of the gentle giants. A maximum time of one hour is given for photography, observations, and enjoying them feeding or playing around.
After tracking you will be transferred to Kigali airport
